Hakkında Proof of Importance

Proof of Importance (PoI) is a consensus algorithm used in the NEM blockchain network. Unlike Proof of Work (PoW) that relies on computational power and Proof of Stake (PoS) that uses the amount of cryptocurrency held to select the validator, PoI assigns an importance score to each user. This score takes into account a variety of factors, such as the number of transactions made, the amount of currency transferred, and the number of nodes operated.

The importance score reflects how much a user has contributed to the network's operation, and users with higher scores have a greater chance of being selected to create new blocks and earn transaction fees. This approach encourages users to be active within the network and ensures that the most active participants are responsible for maintaining the network's integrity.

One of the benefits of PoI is its resistance to 51% attacks. In contrast to PoW, which is vulnerable to such attacks from miners with significant computational power, PoI's importance score considers factors beyond the amount of cryptocurrency held by a user.
