Extreme greed can be a warning sign that the market is overheated and may be due for a correction. Experienced investors often use extreme greed readings as a signal to take profits or reduce exposure.

The Fear & Greed Index is often used as a contrarian indicator. The famous investing principle 'be fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful' applies here. When the index shows extreme fear, it may signal a potential buying opportunity. When it shows extreme greed, it might be time to exercise caution. However, the index should be used alongside other analysis tools and not as a standalone trading signal. Combine it with technical analysis, fundamental research, and your own risk management strategy.
