MultiBit

MultiBit is open source and non-custodial and has historically been regarded as legitimate. MultiBit has not been associated with major criminal charges or scandals. However, users should be aware that the original project is no longer actively maintained, and private keys are generated with your email and emailed to you.

MultiBit was originally created by Jim Burton and later maintained by other contributors in the Bitcoin open-source community.

MultiBit is a global open source project and therefore does not have a centralized headquarters.

MultiBit is a lightweight Bitcoin wallet that connects directly to the Bitcoin network without requiring users to download the entire blockchain. Transactions are created and signed within the wallet interface. You generate private keys with your email and password, the credentials is then emailed to you.
