What this page is
This page collects in one place the risks and the limits that apply to everything on Bitculator: what our numbers are, what they are not, and what we are responsible for.
It is written to be read. The binding wording is in our Terms of Service, and what we do with personal data is in our Privacy Policy. Where this page and the terms cover the same ground, the terms are what binds us both.
Crypto is high risk
You can lose everything you put into crypto. Prices move violently, the market runs around the clock, and an asset that looks established can lose most of its value in days or stop trading altogether.
Crypto-assets are not a bank deposit. They are not covered by any deposit guarantee scheme or investor compensation scheme, so if a coin, an exchange or a wallet fails, no public scheme makes you whole. The European supervisory authorities have warned consumers repeatedly that crypto-assets can be risky and that legal protection, if there is any, may be limited.
Never put in money you cannot afford to lose, and never act on a single number - ours or anyone else's - without checking it yourself.
We do not give advice
Nothing on Bitculator is investment, legal, accounting or tax advice, and nothing on it is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything. That covers every part of the service: prices and market data, rankings, sentiment labels such as bullish or bearish, the fear and greed index, market-cycle bands, exchange trust scores, alarms, insights, the AI assistant, and every strategy and result in the Trading Lab.
Our scores, labels and models are our own opinion, produced automatically from public data. They are not tailored to you, your money, your tax position or your situation, and they take no account of whether an asset is suitable for you. We do not know you, and we do not ask.
In the language of the EU crypto regulation: we give no personalised recommendations to anyone about a crypto-asset or a transaction, so we do not provide "advice on crypto-assets" and we are not an authorised crypto-asset service provider. We are also not an exchange, a broker, a wallet or a payment service. We never hold your money or your crypto, and we cannot place a trade for you.
What you do with what you read here is your decision and your responsibility. If you need advice, ask someone licensed to give it - and for tax, your own accountant or the tax authority in the country where you live.
Simulated results are not real results
The Trading Lab and the trading bots are simulations. They run a strategy against historical and live prices and show what it would have done. They do not connect to an exchange, cannot place an order, and cannot touch your money or your keys.
Simulated performance is hypothetical. It is calculated after the fact, on data we hold, under assumptions reality does not honour: real trading costs slippage, fees, failed orders and outages, and a strategy fitted to the past tends to look better on the past than it performs on the future.
Labels such as "verified" or "champion", and a place on a leaderboard, mean only that a strategy passed our own published checks on our own data. They are not a promise of profit and not a recommendation to trade. Past performance - real or simulated - tells you nothing reliable about what happens next.
The same goes for every calculator on the site. A projection, a what-if or a tax estimate is arithmetic on the numbers you typed in, not a forecast and not tax advice.
Where our numbers come from, and how wrong they can be
We collect prices, volumes, supply figures, order books, news and other public data from exchanges, public interfaces and other third-party sources, and we process it ourselves into the pages, charts, scores and indices you see.
That chain can break at any link. Numbers can be delayed, incomplete, stale or simply wrong; a source can publish bad data or stop publishing; our own processing can have bugs. Prices refresh about once a minute rather than tick by tick, exchange rates for other currencies are updated a couple of times a day, and some figures cover only part of the market - liquidations, for example, come from a single exchange's swap markets.
We give no guarantee that any number on the site is accurate, complete or current, and every price shown anywhere on the site, product prices included, is subject to typing and processing errors. No agreement comes about on the basis of such an error. Check anything that matters against the venue you are actually trading on.
Content produced by AI
Parts of the service are produced by artificial intelligence: the AI assistant answers with a language model, and some summaries and written material on the site are generated or drafted by one. Where that is the case, we label it on the content itself.
AI output can be wrong, out of date, incomplete or invented, and it is not advice. Treat it as a starting point and check anything you intend to act on. You are talking to a machine, not to a person, and it knows nothing about your circumstances.
Links, sponsorship and advertising
The site links to exchanges, wallets, articles, tools and other services we do not run. We do not control them, we do not check them continuously, and we are not responsible for their content, their security, their terms or what they do with your data. A link is not an endorsement. When you follow one you leave our service, and that site's own rules apply - read them.
Some links earn us money. Exchange and wallet links can carry an affiliate code that pays us a commission if you sign up or trade; it costs you nothing extra. Some placements are paid advertising, and those are marked. Money never buys a better score, rank, review or placement - our scores are produced automatically from data, and we do not accept payment to change them.
We do not check the products or the claims made in third-party advertisements. An advertisement that promises you a return has not been verified by us.
What we are responsible for
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill, and we fix what we can when it breaks. We do not promise that it is always available or free of errors.
Nothing on this page limits your rights as a consumer under Danish law, our liability for death or personal injury, or our liability for intent or gross negligence. The full position - including the limits that do apply - is in the Terms of Service, and that is the wording that binds us both.
What we do not take responsibility for is the decisions you make. If you buy, sell or hold something because of a number, a score, a label, a simulation or an AI answer on this site, that decision is yours.
