Balancer

Balancer was co-founded by Fernando Martinelli, Mike McDonald , and Nikolai Mushegian, who have extensive experience and knowledge in software development, blockchain technology and the investment industry. Balancer (BAL) was launched back in June 2020, and has had several funding rounds ranging from: Seed round at $0.600 for $3 Million in 2020, a Strategic round in 2020, a Series A round at $5 million in 2021, an undisclosed round at $24 million in may 2021, and a Grant at $1 million.

Balancer uses a system/combination of several different smart contracts the Ethereum blockchain and operates under an automated market-making model. It uses a variant of the "constant product market maker algorithm". While specific transactions per second can vary, Balancer's architecture allows it to handle numerous trades efficiently. One unique aspect of Balancer is that it lets users create their own custom liquidity pools using multiple tokens weighted in various ratios. This feature substantially enhances yield farming possibilities and encourages efficient liquidity provisioning by allowing participants to customize their pools according to their risk tolerance and investment preferences
