Loopring

Loopring was founded by Daniel Wang, Jay Zhou and Johnston Chen . The project was developed to counter the inefficiencies and high costs associated with trading on Ethereum's main network. Loopring raised funds through an ICO in August 2017 raising $45 million, with an ICO price of $0.067 per token. A major milestone for Loopring was the launch of its zkRollup layer 2 solution in December 2019, enhancing the throughput and cost-effectiveness of Ethereum-based trading.

Loopring uses a zkRollup mechanism to bundle numerous transactions into a single transaction, significantly increasing the throughput while maintaining security. It achieves a transaction throughput of up to 2,025 transactions per second. Loopring's system finalizes transactions in seconds, improving user experience. It supports order-book-based trading and automated market maker (AMM) models.
