Decentraland

Decentraland was founded by Ari Meilich and Esteban Ordano. The project was developed to offer complete ownership of digital land to its community, detaching from centralized governance frameworks. In 2017, Decentraland conducted an Initial Coin Offering (ICO), raising approximately $24 million at an ICO price of around $0.024 per token. Major events include the launch of its virtual world to the public in February 2020, where users could for the first time explore, create, and trade on their digital land.

Users manage ownership of their virtual real estate via Ethereum smart contracts. The platform also integrates customizable avatars, marketplaces for trading digital goods made possible through MANA tokens, and a decentralized governance model through Decentraland's Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO), making it possible for community members to vote on policy updates and participate in auctions.

Decentraland offers several notable features:
