EOS

EOS was created by BlockOne, and led by the legendary developer Dan(iel) Larimer who is also known for creating BitShares and Steemit. EOS was developed to provide a robust dApp platform with superior scalability and usability compared to its predecessors. A notable event in its history was the largest ICO conducted, raising over $4 billion during a year-long ICO that ended in June 2018 with various pricing tiers ranging from approximately $0.5 to $2 per EOS token.

EOS uses a Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) consensus mechanism, making high throughput and scalability possible without suffering too much centralization. The network is designed to support thousands of transactions per second with a block time of 0.5 seconds. EOS uses a pioneering approach to governance and resource allocation, providing developers with computational power and storage based on their stake and user activity instead of pay-per-use fees.
