Pepe (PEPE) was launched April 17 2023.

Pepe (PEPE) was created by an anonymous team of developers as a meme coin inspired by Pepe the Frog, and the creator identities are not public.

Pepe exists on Ethereum as an ERC 20 token, so Pepe does not run a standalone blockchain and does not involve mining. Pepe relies on Ethereum proof of stake for transaction validation and finality. Transfers of PEPE follow the token standard, and transaction speed, fees, and block time are determined by Ethereum rather than by Pepe.

Pepe has several use cases within the cryptocurrency ecosystem:
