Shiba Inu

Shiba Inu was launched back in August 2020 and has often been referred to as the "Dogecoin killer" because it has managed to gain a significant market share with its humorous branding, strong community, and the introduction of several exciting features. Shiba Inu was created by an anonymous person or a group of people who collaborated under the name "Ryoshi." The project was developed as an experiment in decentralized community building and is heavily inspired by the success of Dogecoin. The token gained great popularity in 2021 due to strong community-based shilling and the market boom at that time.

As mentioned above, Shiba Inu is an ERC-20 token standard, and therefore it exists on the Ethereum network. However, the Shiba Inu ecosystem has introduced a layer 2 solution called 'Shibarium,' which has its own native token called Bone (BONE). On the layer 2 solution, users/participants can stake their BONE tokens to become validators or delegates in Shibarium's own Proof of Stake (PoS) system and earn rewards in the form of Leash (LEASH) tokens. The Shiba Inu project has also created a decentralized swap smart contract called ShibaSwap, which makes it easy to swap tokens.
