THETA was co-founded by Mitch Liu and Jieyi Long.

THETA launched its mainnet in 2019.

THETA uses a Proof-of-Stake (PoS). It achieves a high transaction throughput of up to 1,000 transactions per second with a block time of roughly 6-9 seconds. The network incentivizes users to share bandwidth and computing resources by rewarding them with tokens, making the platform more robust and efficient.

THETA offers several distinct features:
