Golem

Golem as an idea was introduced at conferences in 2014/2015 and originally founded by DAOist in 2016. The project was developed to overcome some of the inefficiencies many of the traditional/established computing providers face and to provide a solution for tasks requiring substantial computational resources such as artificial intelligence and machine learning. Golem managed to raise an impressive $8.2 million in funding through an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) back in 2016 with a price per token of just $0.01.

Golem makes it possible for users to submit jobs to a global network of machines that together serve as a major computation center. While Golem does not have its own native blockchain, it relies on the underlying infrastructure of Ethereum which also means that Ethereum handles transactions. Golem’s architecture makes it possible for users to interact through its software to either offer their unused computing power becoming a Golem node, or to request computing tasks, making it very scalable and flexible for various applications and use cases.

Golem offers several notable features:
