Pendle

Pendle was launched back in 2021 by a team of developers led by TN Lee, the whole team have a lot of prior experience in the DeFi and Fintech industry. The goal with Pendle is to innovate how yield-bearing assets are utilized. The concept/idea behind Pendle came from the need for greater liquidity in yield farming, as users under normal circumstances are not able to access their rewards until they are fully earned. The Pendle protocol was launched in the middle of 2021 which was a period that experienced rapid growth towards the whole DeFi sector, the project itself also gained significant attention for its innovative and unique approach.

Pendle is an unique automated market maker (AMM) and as mentioned above is living on the Ethereum blockchain. The project uses a unique mechanism that allows users to lock up their yield-bearing assets into the Pendle protocol. When users deposit these assets, they receive two tokens in return: a token representing the principal asset (e.g., staked ETH) and another representing the future yield (e.g., yPENDLE). This separation allows users to trade their yield tokens on Pendle's marketplace, thus providing liquidity before the actual yield is realized from whichever yield program they are locked up in. Pendle's architecture/protocol has been audited by many different auditing companies (8+) which all have looked at the code and provided valuable information about necessary upgrades.

Pendle offers several key features through the use of its PENDLE token:

Despite its innovative approach, Pendle (PENDLE) faces several challenges:
