SingularityNET was released in September 21 2017 by Dr. Ben Goertzel, a prominent AI researcher and entrepreneur.

SingularityNET is as a decentralized network of AI services powered by smart contracts on Ethereum and other compatible blockchains. Developers publish AI algorithms as services, which users can discover and access via the platform using AGIX tokens for payments.
