Rainbow

Rainbow is a non-custodial wallet, meaning users has full control over their funds and private keys. Rainbow has not been involved in any major hacks or controversies. Rainbow uses security best practices and offers features like biometric protection on mobile devices. While it is not fully open source, parts of the codebase have been made publicly available.

Rainbow was created by a team of developers and designers led by Mike Demarais and other co-founders including Christian Baroni and Jin Chung.

The team behind Rainbow is based in the United States, with its main operations and development driven by a remote first team distributed globally. Rainbow has not undergone any rebranding since its launch.

Rainbow is available as a mobile app and browser extension. Rainbow allows users to manage Ethereum wallets, send and receive tokens, and interact with decentralized applications (dApps). Rainbow generates private keys locally on the device and secures them with a password or biometric authentication. Rainbow also HAS built-in NFT features and token portfolio tracking, WalletConnect support, and in-app swaps.

Rainbow initially launched April 10 2019 as a mobile first Ethereum wallet.
