Yoroi

Yoroi is non-custodial and open source, enabling users to retain full control of their private keys. Yoroi has maintained a solid security record with no major scandals, hacks, or exploits. Core safety features include encrypted private key storage, locally generated recovery phrases, optional biometric authentication, and PIN protection.

Yoroi was created by EMURGO, a blockchain solutions company founded by Ken Kodama and Nicolas Arqueros.

EMURGO, the company behind Yoroi, is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

Yoroi operates as a browser extension and mobile application enabling users to create or restore wallets through locally generated seed phrases. Yoroi connects directly to the Cardano and Ergo blockchains without requiring users to download the full node. Connectivity options include mobile and desktop browsers, as well as mobile devices via Yoroi Mobile App. Transactions are signed locally on the device, and private keys never leave the user’s environment, providing a secure and lightweight user experience.
