Augur

Augur was launched October 27 2015 by co-founders Jack Peterson and Joey Krug. %ASSET_NAME was developed under the Forecast Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating decentralized forecasting tools.

Augur works by allowing users to create custom prediction markets for any verifiable event. Participants can buy shares in different outcomes, and after the event concludes, the result is reported and validated on-chain. The REP token is used for reporting and disputing outcomes. Users who accurately report outcomes are rewarded in REP, while incorrect or dishonest reporting is penalized.
