Ethereum Classic

Ethereum Classic was formed when the Ethereum community split following the DAO hack in 2016. The project was spearheaded by developers who believed in retaining the original blockchain history. Unlike Ethereum, which underwent a hard fork to return misappropriated funds to investors, Ethereum Classic maintains that the blockchain should be immutable. It emerged directly from the existing Ethereum chain as the legacy protocol, supporting the original Ethereum transactions including those involved in the DAO incident.

Ethereum Classic uses a Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus mechanism, similar to Bitcoin, to validate transactions and secure the network. It supports approximately 15 transactions per second with a block time targeting around 15 seconds. Ethereum Classic is known for maintaining a code-is-law philosophy, emphasizing the permanence and censorship-resistance of smart contracts deployed on its network.

Ethereum Classic offers several notable features:

• Immutability: Once a transaction is recorded on the blockchain, it cannot be altered, ensuring data integrity.
• Censorship Resistance: The network is designed to provide a platform free from external influence or modification.

Despite its solid principles, Ethereum Classic faces several challenges:
