Floki

Floki (FLOKI) was launched June 21. 2021.

Floki (FLOKI) was created by a community of anonymous developers and supporters from the Shiba Inu community after Elon Musk named a Shiba Inu puppy Floki.

Floki exists on Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain as an ERC 20 and BEP 20 token, so Floki does not run a standalone blockchain and does not involve mining. Floki relies on Ethereum proof of stake and BNB Smart Chain proof of staked authority for transaction validation and finality. Transfers of FLOKI follow the respective token standards, and transaction speed, fees, and block time are determined by the network used rather than by Floki.

Floki has several use cases within the cryptocurrency ecosystem:

• Microtransactions: Because fees are low on supported networks and confirmations are relatively fast, Floki is often used for microtransactions, tipping, and smaller payments.
• Charitable Donations: The Floki community has organized fundraising campaigns in support of different charities and causes.
• Online Merchants: Some online shops and payment gateways accept Floki as a payment option, which widens usage in online commerce.
• Community Projects: The Floki community runs initiatives that include education, events, and creative projects such as gaming and NFTs to grow reach and engagement.
