Flux

The origins of Flux trace back to its founding team led by Daniel Keller and Tadeáš Kmenta. Initially known as ZelCash, the project rebranded into Flux, bringing a wider range of features. Flux's mission is to provide a decentralized alternative to traditional cloud providers like AWS or Google Cloud. Flux is open-source and permissionless.

Flux is powered by FluxOS, a Linux-based operating system that makes it possible for decentralized applications (dApps) to run across a globally distributed network of Flux nodes. These nodes host applications in Docker containers. Flux uses a parallel proof-of-work (PoW) and proof-of-availability mechanism to secure its blockchain while maintaining robust uptime for hosted services.

The ecosystem also includes the native blockchain (FluxChain), which manages staking, governance, and rewards, and supports interoperability through bridges.
