Kaspa

Kaspa was launched November 7 2021 by Yonatan Sompolinsky. The project was born from academic research, particularly the GHOSTDAG protocol, which expands upon Bitcoin’s original structure to enable higher throughput.

Kaspa uses a consensus mechanism based on the BlockDAG protocol called GhostDAG,. This approach significantly increases throughput, supporting thousands of transactions per second. The DAG structure uses the order and relation of blocks rather than only a linear relation, solving limitations of scalability and speed in traditional Proof-of-Work blockchains.
