Ravencoin

Ravencoin is founded by Ivan Jolicic, and Tron Black in 2018. Ravencoin was developed to enhance blockchain-based asset transfers, it is built on a protocol fork of Bitcoin's. A milestone event in its history includes Ravencoin's launch with a fair, ASIC resistant mining algorithm and a commitment to community-driven development. Ravencoin did not raise funds and the development has been open-sourced with no pre-mine.

Ravencoin uses a Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus mechanism, using the X16R algorithm designed to mitigate ASIC mining and promote decentralization. Ravencoin targets a block time of approximately one minute making it possible to handle transactions faster compared to Bitcoin's ten-minute block time. Ravencoin has built-in features that facilitate asset and security token creation on its blockchain, offering a user-friendly way for individuals and businesses to tokenize real-world or digital assets.
