PIVX

PIVX was forked from DASH in January 2016 by a group of developers and community contributors passionate about privacy and decentralized finance. Initially launched under the name Darknet (DNET), the project rebranded to PIVX in 2017 to better reflect its mission and core values. The development is entirely community-driven, with no pre-mine or ICO.

PIVX uses a proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus algorithm. One of its standout features is its optional privacy mechanism using zk-SNARKs (Zero-Knowledge Proofs), allowing users to make anonymous transactions. PIVX also has a governance system where PIVX hodlers can vote on proposals and funding decisions.
