Synthetix

Synthetix was founded by Kain Warwick. Initially, the project launched under the name "Havven" in 2018, the project rebranded to Synthetix to better reflect its synthetic asset capabilities. The primary goal is to make it possible for users to gain exposure to real-world assets through synthetic proxies. The project raised funds through an ICO in early 2018, raising approximately $5 million with price of $0.67 per SNX token.

Synthetix operates on the Ethereum blockchain using a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) mechanism and uses optimistic rollups for scalability enhancements. The platform allows users to stake SNX tokens as collateral to mint Synths, with smart contracts automating the issuance and burning of these synthetic assets. Synthetix's unique architecture provides a permissionless trading environment.
