Zilliqa

Zilliqa was founded by a team of researchers from the National University of Singapore, including Prateek Saxena, Amrit Kumar, Jia Yaoqi and Max Kantelia. One of the major milestones in Zilliqa's history was the launch of its mainnet in January 2019. Zilliqa raised funds through an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) in 2017 raising $20 million at an average price of $0.0034 per token.

Zilliqa uses a consensus mechanism called Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance (pBFT) along with a sharding architecture, which allows it to achieve high transaction throughput. The network can reach up to 2,500 transactions per second because of its ability to divide the blockchain into smaller shards that process transactions in parallel. Zilliqa's average block time is around 1-2 minutes. The platform also introduced a programming language called Scilla, designed to enhance security and performance when writing smart contracts.

Zilliqa offers several notable features:
