Ledger Nano S Plus is non custodial and is not fully open source. Ledger Nano S Plus uses a CC EAL5+ certified secure element, a PIN code, an optional passphrase, and a 24 word recovery phrase. Ledger Nano S Plus has no confirmed private key compromise on the device level. Ledger experienced a customer data breach in 2020 affecting e commerce data and a 2023 Connect Kit incident affecting a software library, not device key storage.
